La FIFA fait rager les gens – niveau 3

Le président de la FIFA, Gianni Infantino, a officiellement annulé son projet controversé de vendre certaines parties des grands tournois, notamment les Coupes du monde masculine et féminine, à des investisseurs privés.
Il avait proposé 40 millions de dollars à chaque fédération nationale de foot pour les convaincre de participer, mais cette idée a suscité un tollé général partout dans le monde. L’UEFA, l’instance dirigeante du foot européen, a même menacé de boycotter la Coupe du monde 2030, ce qui aurait signifié que des stars comme Jude Bellingham auraient complètement raté l’événement. D’autres instances sportives mondiales se sont vite jointes aux critiques.
Voyant l’ampleur du tollé, Infantino a admis que le projet avait suscité bien trop de polémiques au lieu de rassembler les gens ; il a donc mis fin au projet après le désistement des investisseurs. Les experts estiment que tout ce bazar est un énorme fiasco qui affaiblit considérablement la position d’Infantino, les fans et les responsables ayant insisté pour que le football reste un sport pour le peuple plutôt qu’une affaire de gros capitaux privés.
