Une femme qui s’appelle Christa Pike est à l’hôpital. Elle a été incarcérée en 1996 pour un meurtre. Elle a été condamnée à mort.

Les autorités ont utilisé deux injections pour mettre fin à ses jours. Mais après ça, elle respirait toujours et était encore en vie. Ses avocats ont fait interrompre la procédure. Les médecins l’ont emmenée à l’hôpital. Le gouverneur du Tennessee a suspendu les autres exécutions pour le moment. Personne ne sait ce qui a mal tourné.

Les responsables des Nations Unies affirment que cet échec est extrêmement cruel et terrible. Beaucoup de gens aux États-Unis se posent désormais de grandes questions sur les règles relatives à la peine de mort et sur la sécurité.
