Deux sites célèbres d’Amérique latine sont aujourd’hui gravement menacés.

Au Pérou, le Machu Picchu accueille chaque année trop de touristes. Beaucoup de gens marchent sur les vieilles pierres et abîment le site. Les intempéries et les fortes pluies posent aussi de gros problèmes. Le gouvernement limite désormais le nombre de visiteurs autorisés chaque jour. Au Honduras, des gens abattent de grands arbres dans une célèbre forêt tropicale. Les exploitations agricoles illégales, l’exploitation aurifère et les criminels détruisent la forêt et nuisent aux animaux sauvages.

Les habitants tentent de sauver leurs terres, mais c’est dangereux. Les experts affirment que les pays doivent collaborer dès maintenant pour aider à sauver ces sites naturels exceptionnels.
