La société Meta doit verser 18 milliards de dollars (16,5 milliards d’euros) à 48 États américains. Les dirigeants américains affirment que Facebook et Instagram sont nocifs pour la santé des enfants.

Meta affirme qu’elle n’a rien à se reprocher, mais elle versera cette somme sur dix ans. Meta modifie également la façon dont les ados utilisent ses applications. Les ados ne pourront les utiliser que deux heures par jour. Les applications cesseront de fonctionner la nuit et pendant les heures de cours. Meta souhaite également masquer le nombre de « j’aime ».

Meta souhaite que d’autres applications vidéo comme TikTok et YouTube adoptent également ces mêmes mesures pour les enfants. Les gens se demandent si ces applications sont vraiment sans danger pour les enfants.
