La Perth Mint, en Australie, a fabriqué le plus gros lingot d’or du monde, qui pèse 521,2 kilogrammes. Il a battu l’ancien record de 300 kilogrammes détenu par Dubaï.
Plus de 35 experts ont travaillé ensemble pendant trois jours pour le fabriquer, et des juges du Guinness World Records ont suivi tout le processus. Ce lingot est exceptionnel car il présente une pureté très élevée de 99,999 %, ce qui est extrêmement difficile à atteindre. Le métal à lui seul vaut plus de 100 millions de dollars, mais ce lingot a été créé pour montrer au monde entier à quel point les orfèvres australiens sont talentueux.
